5 Bedroom detached house Linceslade Grove, Loughton £875,000

The generous house on Linceslade Grove offers ample space for multi-generational living, within an exceptionally convenient and desirable Milton Keynes location

As soon as the current owners of the house on Linceslade Grove saw the newly built property, they realised it could be their perfect home. The well-proportioned, detached house was set in a sought-after Loughton location and offered all the flexibility they were seeking. “The property had been newly completed when we first viewed it and we liked everything about it,” one of them recalls. “It was a large, five-bedroom house, with plenty of family living space, and it was in a perfect location. It was well positioned for getting into central Milton Keynes, picking up major roads and transport routes out of the city and reaching lovely locations for going walking at the weekend. Everything about it was exactly what we had been looking for.”

FAMILY LIVING
It has been 24 years now since they first arrived at the house, settled in and made it their own. Set back from the road by a small front garden, the property has a generous driveway leading to a double garage to one side. There is an enclosed garden, which has ample room for children to play and adults to relax out on the terrace. Accessed easily from the dining room, this is ideal for anyone who enjoys indoor-outdoor living. “With its well-laid out interior and good-sized garden, this house has a lot to offer,” the owner says. “It offers huge flexibility and potential to be enjoyed by different people, with varying lifestyle requirements. For us, it has been an excellent multi-generational home, where people can spread out and enjoy their privacy or gather and spend time together.”
A WELCOME HOME
Entered from the front, the property benefits from a very large central reception hall. This fans off in all directions, leading to all the main accommodation. “To the left, at the front, there is a small room which would originally have been designed to be a study,” he observes. “It would certainly be a great place for anyone who had to be able to work from home but could also be a children’s playroom or a snug. For us, it has been perfect as a prayer room for my parents-in-law who live with us.” A downstairs cloakroom can also be accessed from the hall.
SUMMER DAYS
To the other side of the front door, double doors open into the capacious sitting room. This has a bay window to the front that brings the natural light flooding in. There is ample space in here for plenty of comfortable seating. “This is a very good-sized room for family living and for entertaining. It would be perfect for anyone who enjoyed hosting parties,” he says. More double doors can be opened up between this room and the dining room, enhancing the sense of flow throughout the ground floor of the house. “This layout works perfectly for dinner parties and other special occasions, especially in the summer months when the French windows to the garden can be kept open so people can stroll in and out.”
EXCEPTIONAL KITCHEN
A door from the dining room leads into the kitchen breakfast room, enhancing the convenience of the arrangement of the living space. The kitchen breakfast room itself is a very sizeable area. Again offering great versatility, this offers ample storage and work surface area, with a peninsula. There is a large bay window overlooking the garden, plus a handy exterior door. “The kitchen breakfast room encompasses a section where you could either choose to have another table and chairs or a comfortable seating or television area perhaps,” he adds.
PERFECT PLACE
The first floor of the house is as carefully thought out as the lower level. Again, this has been designed both with family living and welcoming guests in mind. Here there are five bedrooms, three of which have their own en suite bath or shower rooms. There is also a family bathroom. “The master bedroom is particularly large and has a bank of built-in storage, plus a large en-suite bathroom. The bedroom here looks out over the garden,” he says. One of the guest bedrooms has an en-suite bathroom while another has an en-suite shower room. The smallest bedroom could make a superb study or child’s room. “The arrangement here has been ideal for us,” the owner adds. Not relocating, he admits he and his family will be sad to leave their much-loved Loughton home. “We have appreciated the space and the setting,” he says. “Every day we like to walk around the Teardrop Lakes in Loughton Valley Park and then return to this wonderful house afterwards.”
