4 Bedroom semi-detached house Ridings Close, Ascot £875,000

A Semi detached four bedroom house built by Banner Homes in 2014 and located in a sought after residential location.

With a spectacular master suite and generous, light accommodation arranged over three storeys, the house at Ridings Close in Ascot offers sumptuous, as well as exclusive, living.

The Story
From his gorgeous garden room to his relaxing sitting room, the current owner of the property at Ridings Close will miss everything about his beautiful, modern home. But more than anything, he admits, he will be sad to leave his exquisite master suite. “This was one of the features of the house that immediately appealed to me,” he recalls. “There is a very large master bedroom here, which opens into a beautiful dressing room that has been fitted out with wardrobes; there is also a lovely en suite bathroom, with a bath and a shower. The suite is very spacious and light and I have realised that it will be very difficult to find anything quite like it in any of the properties I am going to move on to.”
Style and Quality.
Looking for a sizeable home in a convenient and desirable location in Ascot, the owner bought the Ridings Close house off-plan 10 years ago. The work of exclusive property builder Banner Homes, it offered the space, style and quality he was looking for. “It was half finished when I first saw it and I liked its layout,” he recalls. “One of just 12 houses in the development, it was also in an exceptional position. It was especially quiet and sat on one of the larger plots. It was exactly what I was looking for at the time.” Since then it has been enhanced in places and well maintained throughout. “There was originally a conservatory here but I had it made into more of a garden room and opened it up into the rest of the ground floor.”
High Specification
The impressive, semi-detached house is set back from the road, with a small front garden and a driveway leading to the garage. It is entered via a central hall that gives on to a ground-floor cloakroom to one side. To the other side is the kitchen breakfast room, which benefits from a window to the front of the house. A bright, contemporary space, it has been finished to a high specification. It features white high-gloss units and black granite work surfaces, as well as a breakfast bar for casual meals. “This is a very well-designed room,” he agrees. “I like to cook a lot and everything here is well laid out and of a high quality.”
Glorious Light
The hall opens into the generous sitting room, which is decorated in a chic, minimal style and is open-plan to the garden room. “This is a great room for relaxing in during the evening or watching television,” he says. “It is also ideal for entertaining as it now flows into the garden room, which in turn can be opened right up on to the garden.” The garden room is currently used as a dining room and secondary sitting room or snug space. With a glass wall and ceiling, it enjoys a wealth of natural light. On fine days the bi-folding doors can be pulled right back to offer seamless indoor-outdoor living. “We have garden lighting outside and in the summer months when this is all lit up it looks wonderful. We can sit inside or out and it is ideal for dinner parties and barbecues.”
Sumptuous Bedrooms
The second floor of the house encompasses three of the bedrooms and the family bathroom. One of the bedrooms is currently a guest room while another is set up as a useful home office. “But this room is still a reasonable size and would also make a good bedroom,” he says. “The magnificent master suite takes up the rest of the first floor.” Stairs from the landing lead up to the top floor of the house, where a guest bedroom and its en suite shower room are situated. This part of the house could be ideal for a teenager or adult child. “We keep this as a guest suite and it is perfect for my parents when they come to stay as they feel very self-contained,” he adds.
Convenient Place
The location of the house has also proved to be everything he hoped it would be. “It is very easy to get anywhere from here,” he agrees. “It is quick to travel to London, Heathrow or Reading because we have such good access to the M3 and the train station. There are local shops within walking distance and we are in the catchment area for Charters School.” He has enjoyed being close to leafy, green places to walk, including Ascot Racecourse. “I will miss both the location and the house when I leave,” he adds. “It has been a great place to live.”
Setting the scene
To the front of the house on Ridings Close, there is a neat area of planting. To the rear, the property opens on to an enclosed garden with a large lawn and a terrace. Here there is ample space for outside entertaining as well as for children to play on the grass.
