"It was primarily location that brought us here," one of sellers admits. "This was a brand new development in Northampton and it was very well designed, with families in mind. It is close to good state and private schools, as well as parks, and it has access to all the amenities, such as shops, supermarkets, doctor's surgeries and a retail park. This house, in particular, was attractive because it looked out over the green. What could be a nicer sight than that to wake up to every morning?"

BRIGHT AND MODERN
It was just over seven years ago now that they moved into the house - and the property still looks as new as ever inside. "We have decorated it throughout, giving it quite a contemporary look," he says. "The colour scheme has been carefully thought out to ensure everything is matching." Externally, the house has a traditional style, while internally it is bright and modern. "It is a very attractive house: we liked the way it looked from the outside, as well as the layout inside," he recalls. "We were looking for a really open-plan kitchen and living area and this was perfect."
SPACIOUS LIVING
There is a comfortable flow throughout the property, he points out. "As you come into the house you have the staircase in the middle and then the kitchen breakfast room to the right, running from the front of the property to the back." At the front and to the left of the front door is a reception room with a bay window. This is bright and airy, and could make an excellent study, playroom or dining room. The main drawing room is at the back and has French windows on the garden. "I love the drawing room, which is very spacious and has a nice view over the garden," he says. "We can sit in there and watch television while the little one plays outside in the sunshine and runs in and out."
FAMILY HOME
The kitchen also opens on to the garden, which is ideal for al fresco dining in the summer. "The kitchen is a good, family-sized room, with space for a table and chairs for meals. It is also perfect for entertaining, with room for people to gather together and to wander out into the garden if the weather is fine." There is also a utility room and ground floor cloakroom. All four bedrooms are situated upstairs, together with the family bathroom, which has a shower and a bath. The master bedroom has an en suite shower room and looks out over the green to the front of the property. "This view has been one of the main attractions to this house," he adds.
GOOD CONNECTIONS
The Timkin Way North location of the house has been ideal for the owners. Not only has it given them access to good local amenities but they have also found it good for travelling. "It is very easy to get to the M1 motorway from here and to travel to London or up north. There is also good access to train stations for rail travel - I know a lot of people who commute into London from here to go to work," he says. "Although it is very quiet here because we are on a no-through road, we are very well-connected."
OUTSTANDING LOCATION
Northampton itself offers a wide range of shops, leisure facilities and places of historic interest to visit. Locally, there are tennis and football clubs, as well as sports centres. "We have a gym just two minutes away where I play badminton at weekends," he says. "There are also lots of nice places to go for a walk and parks to take our daughter to after school." The owners are sad to be leaving their perfect home but are relocating for reasons of work. "We will miss everything about this house," he says. "It offers so much space inside and it is in such a lovely location, right opposite the green."
