4 Bedroom detached house Dovecote Croft, Great Linford £995,000

Tucked away on a quiet cul-de-sac, close to the park, the Meadow offers spacious living and a tranquil lifestyle with ample opportunity for spending time outdoors

Every day she has lived on Dovecote Croft, the current owner of the Meadow has stepped out of her front door and enjoyed a stroll about Great Linford Manor Park. One of the main reasons for choosing to buy the house four years ago was its proximity to lots of green, open space. “I said to the agent on my very first viewing that I will buy the house.’
Being next to the Manor Park is such a luxury of life,” she remembers. “I loved the way it was tucked in next to the park and had so much greenery around it. It also had a garden that was a perfect size for me. I decided to let part of it become meadow and this now looks so beautiful in the springtime when all the daffodils come up.” She adds: “It is so peaceful here and yet it is also so convenient for the city centre, shops and M1 motorway.”

SENSE OF SPACE
The four-bedroom, detached house, which is believed to be able 26 years old, is a generous size but the owner says she makes use of every room. “I love walking through it and enjoying the sense of space,” she agrees. “My family often come to stay and they love it too. They enjoy spending time in the house and garden, as well as in the park.” The property was ready to move into when she arrived but she has upgraded it in the time she has been here. “During the short 4 years’ time, I have upgraded the house with a new Worcester Boiler, new Dishwasher 2 Bi-fold patio doors and a three-tiered Timber Bay window. ” She adds. “I have carried out work here and there and it is now perfect for me.”
ALL SEASONS
Entered via a covered porch, the ground-floor accommodation largely fans off the airy central reception hall. To the left, double doors open into the sizeable sitting room, which has a dual aspect and benefits from the bay window to the side. “I love spending time in here – this is one of my favourite rooms,” she observes. A door leads into the family room and there is also a double-sided wood burner that throws its cosy heat out into both rooms. French windows from the family room open up to the terrace and garden. “In the summer I keep these doors open and I can choose whether to sit inside or out.” “The aluminium Bi-fold Doors brings me lots of pleasure in summer. With my auto mower looking after the lawn, I have made this place very low maintenance which is exactly I aimed for.
BEAUTIFUL KITCHEN
The family room, which could equally make a splendid dining room, opens into the kitchen breakfast room. This gorgeous area with underfloor heating, light units, white work surfaces and huge central island, also has ample space for a dining table and chairs. “It is a beautiful kitchen,” she agrees. “I love cooking and it is very well designed. When I get started I just keep going and end up making lots of food to take to my daughter and her family as well!” The kitchen opens to the patio with aluminium Bi-fold doors that open on to the terrace – ideal for anyone who enjoys hosting barbecues and summer parties. The kitchen also leads to a utility room, which in turn offers access to the downstairs cloakroom.
A FAMILY HOME
An additional ground-floor room is currently used as a formal dining room but could equally make a superb study, snug or playroom. “This house has such a nice layout, with plenty of room for a family,” she adds. The sense of space and natural light continues upstairs, where all four bedrooms are situated on the first floor. Two of these rooms have en suite shower rooms and there is also a family shower room. “The master bedroom is a very good size and there is also a second bedroom that is large. It is very easy to accommodate overnight guests here,” she adds.
A TRUE TREASURE
The Meadow is low maintenance, she says, and everything about it has suited her well. “It has provided me with a lifestyle that I have really enjoyed,” she admits. “I am only moving now for family reasons. I am heartbroken to be going. I absolutely love everything about being here: from the house itself and its garden to its position by the park. This place is a treasure and I don’t think I will ever find anywhere quite like it again.”
