Set back from the road, the front garden of this property comprises garden lamp post, large lawn, mature trees and shrubs with Laurel hedging affording privacy.

The house is entered via a central reception hall with access to lounge, kitchen dining room, utility room and cloakroom.
The lounge is a very generous light space and is double aspect spanning the width of the property. Patio doors for the garden allow seamless indoors outdoor living in the summer months.

Double doors from the hall open onto the spacious kitchen dining room. This space has been cleverly designed to encompass a country style kitchen with a generous Island in addition to an area for dining and relaxing. The kitchen and utility room are fitted with black granite work surfaces and artisan tiled splash backs. This entire area is floored with engineered wood. An outstanding feature of the property are the well stocked gardens. A wealth of mature perennial trees and plants have created a green canopy to be enjoyed in every season. STREAMING SUNLIGHT
It was back in 1986 that they bought the detached, four-bedroom house. “It had to be within commuting distance of both of our places of work,” she recalls. “When we went to see it, we loved the location – it was an immaculate area with lots of green space. The house itself also fitted our needs. It was a good size and we liked its Scandinavian-style appearance. It also had lots of windows, which made it very light and airy throughout.” Over the years since moving in, they have fully redecorated and refurbished the property. “We have updated the main bathroom and the downstairs cloakroom and replaced the kitchen and utility room,” she says. “We also laid a circular terrace at the bottom of the garden and a monoblock drive and pathway around the house.”
INDOOR-OUTDOOR LIVING
Set back from the road by its beautiful, almost Mediterranean-style front garden and the driveway up to the garage, the house is entered via a central reception hall, with access to the sitting room, kitchen dining room and cloakroom. The sitting room is a very generous, light space that runs from front to back of the house, with windows at either end. There is ample room for both comfortable seating and dining furniture, should that suit new owners. In the summer, the glass doors to the garden can be pulled right back to offer seamless indoor-outdoor living. “We love this room because it is a very cosy, comfortable space,” she says. “There is plenty of room for entertaining and relaxing.”
STYLISH KITCHEN
Double doors from the hall lead into the spacious kitchen dining room. This has been cleverly designed to encompass a good-sized food preparation and storage area, as well as room for dining and unwinding. “The kitchen is great for socialising and for family times,” she explains. “We have an island, with a breakfast bar, plus the dining table and chairs and a sofa.” The kitchen itself is a stylish teal shade, with black granite work surfaces along the sides and wood on the island. “We also have doors to the garden in here and often keep these open in the summer too so we can wander in and out as we choose.”
GARDEN VIEWS
All four bedrooms are on the first floor of the house. The lovely master bedroom has fitted wardrobes and a window overlooking the beautiful garden. “I also love the guest bedroom that looks out over the garden as it has a floor-to-ceiling window,” she admits. “On a fine day, this room is just flooded with light. This is a nice place to sit and work.” Having four bedrooms has given them the flexibility of being able to use rooms as offices and hobby spaces as they have been required. “The space we have here really has been ideal for us,” she agrees. “We are only moving now as we are relocating for family reasons.”
CLOSE TO NATURE
When first looking for a new home all those years ago, convenience was a major consideration and the owners have not been disappointed. “We have found it very easy to get anywhere we have needed to from here,” she says. “Since the Lexicon in Bracknell has been regenerated it has been even better – door to door, I can be there in eight minutes! It is also easy to catch trains into central London or Guildford and, of course, we have so many wonderful places to walk, including Windsor Great Park and Virginia Water. We are also just a few minutes from the racecourse, where my husband used to jog.” She adds: “We will miss everything when we leave, especially all the green open space and the tranquillity.”
SETTING THE SCENE
To the front of the house on Beaufort Gardens, there is a very well-kept garden and a driveway leading to the garage. To the rear, doors open onto the very leafy, private rear garden, which enjoys plenty of privacy and has been designed to ensure it is green all year round.
