2 Bedroom end-of-terrace house Jones Corner, Ascot £485,000

The appealing house at Jones Corner offers airy, modern living and leafy views, from its tranquil setting on a quiet cul-de-sac, within walking distance of shops and school

This 2 bedroom home is light, bright and airy, with a bathroom upstairs and a cloakroom downstairs. A big living area and lovely kitchen complete this property, which opens out onto a beautiful and tranquil garden area with a patio. Located in a cul-de-sac with 2 parking spaces allocated to this home.

Looking out from the front of her house at Jones Corner, the owner enjoys a view out towards leafy woodland, which is home to a variety of birds and other wildlife. This semi-rural setting was one of the main attractions of the property when she first came to view it two years ago. “It really is a lovely place to live,” she admits. “In addition to the woodland, the road is very quiet because it is a cul-de-sac. It offers a feeling of living in the country and yet there are local shops and it is very handy for Ascot and Windsor. It is also in a great location for reaching the station if you want to catch a train into London and it is well placed for getting to airports easily. This is a very, very unique corner of Ascot in which to live.”

INTERIOR DESIGN
The house itself, which is believed to be about 20 years old, was also exactly what she was looking for. “It was very bright and airy, and offered open-plan living,” she recalls. “I liked the feeling of space it offered and realised I would be able to add my own touches very easily.” Indeed, in addition to landscaping the garden, she has also upgraded the interior of the property in the time she has been there. “I wanted to make it feel more contemporary and so have given it something of a Kelly Hoppen style, using very neutral shades, including whites, greys and a touch of black. It is now very much a blank canvas for the next person to move straight into and enjoy.” Indeed, new owners could arrive with their own furniture, furnishings and accessories and add splashes of colour of their own choice. “The wooden floors enhance the contemporary style of the house,” she adds.
ALL SEASONS
At ground floor level, the modern kitchen, which has underfloor heating, provides good space for food storage and preparation. It leads comfortably into the main open-plan, dual-aspect drawing and dining room area, which encompasses space for comfortable seating and dining furniture. French windows give on to the greenery of the garden and beyond. “It is lovely sitting in here and having such a lovely view,” she agrees. “When the weather is warm, these doors can be kept open to create a feeling of even more space.” This part of the house is ideal for entertaining, especially in the summer when guests can spill outside at barbecues and garden parties.
SUNNY ROOMS
Both bedrooms and the family bathroom are situated on the first floor of the house. The front bedroom enjoys the sun in the morning before it moves around to the back of the house. “Both are double in size, but the master bedroom stands out because it is larger and more contemporary in style,” she says. “It looks out over the garden and trees to the back of the house. It is nice to lie in bed here in the summer, with the windows open, listening to the sound of the birds in the trees.”
GREEN SPACES
The garden at the property is L-shaped, with a lawn for children to play on and an area of decking for outside dining and relaxation. “We sit outside to eat as often as possible because it is so pleasant – even when there is a shower you can enjoy it because it is sheltered by the trees.” There are lots of wonderful outside space to enjoy in the vicinity as well, from woodland walks to country footpaths. “We can walk up to a local pond or head further afield to one of the large parks or to the racecourse and Ascot Heath.”
SETTING THE SCENE
The house at Jones Corner has a small front garden and an L-shaped rear garden, with trees behind. There is a lawn and an area of decking. The property comes with two allocated parking spaces.
WITHIN EASY REACH
Windsor Great Park, The Savill Garden and Virginia Water are popular places for local residents to visit. Windsor Great Park dates back to pre-Saxon times and was used by William I as a hunting ground; today it offers a variety of different landscapes. “This is such a lovely place to live and the neighbours are all very friendly. There is a good community spirt and yet it does not feel too intrusive,” she adds. “I will miss it when I leave. I am relocating now for family reasons, but will miss everything about it, especially the greenery.”
