Living in Milton Keynes
Milton Keynes was the largest “new town” in the UK when it was founded in 1967. The purpose of Milton Keynes was to become a form of overspill for the tightly packed areas of our nation’s capital. Now it is a thriving community and business hub and the largest town in Buckinghamshire.
History of the area
Although only newly founded as a town, Milton Keynes is home to a plethora of historical curiosities. There has been evidence found to suggest that people have settled in the area from as far back as the neolithic period, with the discovery of bronze age jewellery. In more recent history, this area is home to Colossus, the first programmable electronic digital computer in the world.
